This class is an orientation to the computer components, use of the mouse, and Windows operating system. This is an introduction course for new users to Windows. This course will cover the tasks and features that are used on a frequent basis by you in an office environment or home setting. It consists of getting started with Windows, working with programs, exploring my computer, file, folder, and disk management, personalizing windows, and working with windows programs. You will also work with the Internet, getting connected, using electronic mail, and using mailing lists. You will increase your effectiveness in locating information on the Internet. This is an excellent hands-on course for beginners.

For this class you will need to have a DSLR camera with interchangeable lenses along with your camera manual. A tripod and an external flash will be helpful but not absolutely necessary. This class is geared to you if you are comfortable with point and shoot cameras but want to become more comfortable using your DSLR camera. We will also delve into shooting in manual mode. Discussions and assignments will include exposure (aperture & shutter speed), manual shooting, night shooting, macro photography, depth of field, filters, and anything else that comes up.
