Always wondered about Tai Chi, but didn’t know where to start? Join us for this 10-session class! Tai chi, which originated in China as a martial art, is practiced around the world today as a way of improving health, body awareness, and balance. In this low-impact, slow-motion exercise, you move without pausing through a series of postures or forms. We will learn both the external form of tai chi movements as well as the internal principles that animate them. Movements are circular and never forced and muscles are relaxed rather than tensed. Practiced at a slow and even speed, tai chi promotes relaxation, posture, and balance. And best of all, you can learn and benefit from tai chi even if you aren't in top shape or the best of health--start where you are and go from there!
